Cardiff Met University has been home to British Wheelchair Basketball’s High Performance Programme for the last 3 years and this role has the opportunity to continue the leadership of this partnership. As a High-Performance Partnership, CMU work closely with BWB to support the performance pathway and deliver a programme that is of the highest standard for athletes with a disability.
The Wheelchair Basketball Head Coach will be responsible for the planning and day to day co-ordination of the Cardiff Met Archers Wheelchair Basketball programme.
The HC will lead the Women’s Premier League and BUCS teams and ensure that the programme provided meets the technical, tactical, physical and mental needs of athletes. The HC will also contribute to the holistic development of the sport and the wider club.
What we are looking for:
We’re looking for a coach with a level 2 coaching award who has extensive knowledge of basketball either as a coach or player in the wheelchair or running game. You will have excellent organisation, communication and leadership skills to enable you to lead the planning, delivery and logistics surrounding all aspects of the daily training environment and competition requirements.
