Role Purpose
BUCS is looking to recruit enthusiastic and motivated individuals who are working or volunteering in Football outside of BUCS or Higher Education*. The BUCS Independent representative will present insights and perspectives from outside of the BUCS membership to ensure the group has diversity of thought and experience when making strategic decisions, whilst also acting as an ambassador for the BUCS SAG. They may also be called upon to represent the SAG in other settings.
BUCS is looking to recruit members who have diverse skills and experience including knowledge and understanding of Male recreational pathway, Female recreational pathway, BUCS competitions (Male and/or Female), BUCS Futsal Competitions, Workforce development and/or volunteering and Youth Leadership.
*BUCS is also recruiting non-executive members from within the Higher Education membership as well as 2 co-opted positions; BUCS’ FA Council Member and a young person representing the student body.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Act as an ambassador for BUCS and the sport programme.

Provide expert advice and support to the Chair and executive through attending and actively participating in SAG meetings by making recommendations to BUCS on football related matters.

Use influence, relationships and expertise to advance football in / through HE by encouraging political support and financial investment of partner agencies and others.

Ensure the Chairperson and National Football Development Manager are supported appropriately.
