The Oxford University Men’s Blues Basketball Team are seeking a committed and knowledgeable Head Coach to lead a competitive and motivated squad for the 2025/26 season and the near future.
Following a successful year — including a Varsity victory over Cambridge and wins at both the Les Parisiennes Tournament in Paris and the Town vs Gown game — the Blues are aiming for promotion as a goal for the upcoming season.
With a strong core of players and a good mix of undergraduates and postgraduates students who will remain at the university for the next 2–3 years, this is an exciting opportunity to build a long-term project.
About the Role The Blues compete in the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) league, with matches held on Wednesdays.
The Head Coach will be expected to:
● Lead two to three training sessions per week.
● Attend all BUCS matches (home and away). All travel costs for away games will be reimbursed.
● Assist in player selection and trials from late September (Week 0 Michaelmas Term) onwards in collaboration with team Captains
● The role offers a salary of £140 per week during term time in Michaelmas and Hilary Terms, as well as Week 0 of Michaelmas Term.
