Event Guide

Timetable

Tee times are at 10-minute intervals for foursomes and 8-minute intervals for singles, there will be a starter present on the 1st tee. The Hotchkin Course will be used for the event.

Men will play off a mixture of Blue, white and yellow tees. Women will play off a mixture of red and yellow, as detailed above.

Tuesday 9 April     

07:30  Championship Semi-Final one - (St Andrews 1s vs Bath 1s); 4 x foursomes

08:20  Championship semi-final two - (Exeter 1s vs Stirling 1s); 4 x foursomes

12:40  Championship semi-final one; 8 x singles

14:00  Championship semi-final two; 8 x singles

Wednesday 10 April 

07:30  Trophy Final (Exeter 2s vs Durham 1s); 3 x foursomes

08:10  Championship Final (St Andrews 1s or Bath 1s vs Exeter 1s or Stirling 1s); 4 x foursomes

12:00  Trophy Final; 6 x singles

13:10  Championship Final; 8 x singles

Registration

Team captains/coaches must register their team (by completion of the team sheet on BUCS Play) at least 60 minutes before starting the competition. Team captains are encouraged to register their team as soon as they arrive at the venue. Registration will be located in the tournament office by the 1st tee.

Teamsheets will be checked and students must bring their student ID with them for checking. 

If team captains are unable to register their team in person they should contact the BUCS Event Manager listed at the end of this document.

Championship semi-finals & final match-day squads must consist of 8 players, trophy finals match-day squads must consist of 6 players. No players can be swapped in once the day starts i.e. there can be no substitutions between foursomes and singles.

Practice Rounds

Practice rounds are available to book directly with club during the following times:

  • Monday 8 April (Hotchkin):
    • 11:00 - 11:30
    • 14:30 – 15:30

Please liaise with the pro shop directly to book & pay for these - £40 per round.

Range Balls & Course Guides

A range token and course guide will be provided to competitors free of charge.

Dress Code

Competitors are expected to dress appropriately when in the clubhouse; trainers, golf shoes, jeans and sportswear are not permitted in certain function rooms.

Competitors must therefore bring a change of clothes and footwear for use in the clubhouse. Competitors must change spike footwear if they intend to eat and drink in the clubhouse

Food & Drink

Competitors are responsible for providing their own food and drink throughout the competition. The bar will be open for food throughout the competition.

All competitors and spectators have a responsibility to keep the venue and competition areas clean and tidy.

Presentations

The presentation of awards will take place following the end of play of each competition on Wednesday. Competitors and spectators are encouraged to remain within the clubhouse for the announcement of the winners and presentations.

Rules & Regulations

All BUCS Golf competitions are governed in accordance with the National Governing Body rules and regulations, BUCS rules and regulations and local rules of the golf club. The BUCS Golf Rules and Regulations should be read in conjunction with the pre-event information.

A England Golf referee will be available to offer rule clarification and support the competition. Competitors are encouraged to use the referees if required to resolve indecisions.

The Tournament Director has the final decision in all sport competition matters.
