Entry Costs

£33.75 per person
This includes entry into individual and team competitions.

Staged Entry

Stage 2 window (for the addition of reserves only):
Friday 6 March – Friday 13 March

PLEASE NOTE: This deadline is different to the usual Thursday closing of BUCS Play events to enable institutions to add reserve players (and subsequently make substitutions) right up until the commencement of the team competition.

Entry Allowance

There is one player that is guranteed per institution. The rest are non guaranteed.

Teams are to be made up of a maximum of six players, five of which will play in a match.

For each competitor, institutions will be required to rank their players for a particular team.

  • For example, the strongest player for the 1st team should be assigned the code “101”, the second-strongest player for the 1st team would be “102”, etc.  The strongest player for the 2nd team would be “201”, the second-strongest player for the 2nd team would be “202”, etc. This process allows UPC to determine the team and rank of each entrant needed to complete the draw.  If your institution is only entering one individual, please use “101”.

A maximum of 48 teams will be accepted and preference will be given to first teams, then second teams, etc then to institutions highest in the competition rankings.

  • For example, if 60 entries are received comprised of 30 first teams, 15 second teams, 10 third teams and 5 fourth teams then all of the first teams, all of the second teams and the three highest-ranked institutions’ third teams would be accepted (with the fourth-highest ranked institution’s third team being first reserve, the fifth-highest ranked institution’s third team being second reserve, etc).

If your institution enters multiple teams, other than in exceptional circumstances players ascribed to a particular team will unable to compete for any lower ranked team in the tournament. As such, please make your team selections carefully. Players may be moved up from a lower to a higher ranked team (e.g. seconds to firsts) or from the reserve list into a team.

Furthermore, after entries have closed no refunds will be given for withdrawals. This applies regardless of the reason for a withdrawal.

IA acceptance guidelines

The strongest player for the 2nd team would be “201”, the second-strongest player for the 2nd team would be “202”, etc.

This process allows UPC to determine the team and rank of each entrant needed to complete the draw.  If your institution is only entering one individual entry, please use “101”.
