Entry information

Entry Process

To register for this event you must register in two locations: 

  1. With the relevant host venue Event Organiser, as indicated on the Host Location tab. 
  2. On BUCS Play.

Entry into each UIRS event is managed by the relevant host venue Event Organiser.

Competitors and institutions should liaise directly with the Event Organiser at each host venue and follow the entry process as detailed on their respective event webpage (entry fees may apply). 

Entry and attendance at each individual event is not managed or administered by BUCS.

BUCS Registration process:

To apply for this competition on BUCS Play:

  1. Competitor to complete competition application on BUCS Play
  2. Institution administrator approves entry
  3. BUCS approves/denies entry into competition and publishes confirmed entry list.

 

Cost and entry dates

Entry costs: £5.00 plus any associated fees charged by the host venues.

Entries open: Tuesday 15 October 2019

Entries close: Tuesday 26 November 2019 at 23:59 – Student/Competitor Deadline (Students/ Competitors must apply by this deadline) Thursday 28 November 2019 at 23:59 - Institution Administrator Approval Deadline (Institutional Administrators are given 48 hours after the student/ competitor deadline to approve entries)

Competition format

The competition will consist of the following categories for both men and women:

Beginner
Championship openweight
Championship lightweight
Championship adaptive (men and women combined)

The competition is a time trial over 2,000m for Championship categories (except Championship adaptive which is over 1,000m) and 1,000m for beginner categories.

BUCS Points

BUCS points and medals in each Championship category

  • 1st: 12 points and Gold medal
  • 2nd: 8 points and Silver medal
  • 3rd: 6 points and Bronze medal
  • 4th: 4 points

Overall team points are available for a men’s team and a women’s team. Team positions are awarded based on an institution’s top four placings across all event categories.

  • 1st: 20 points
  • 2nd: 14 points
  • 3rd: 10 points
  • 4th: 7 points
  • 5th: 5 points
  • 6th: 3 points 
  • 7th: 2 points 
  • 8th: 1 point

Entry allowance

Results for the BUCS Rowing Indoor Championships are extracted from the University Indoor Rowing Series (UIRS).

There is no limit on the number of competitors which an institution can enter into the BUCS Rowing Indoor Championships.

No entry into this competition is guaranteed.
