Entry List

The Entry List is available for download on the BUCS Archery event page. These lists confirm allocation of Northern, Central or Southern tournaments, and shooting time allocations.

If an individual fails to meet the qualification score for their category at the regional qualifiers, evidence of their qualification score will be requested (if not already available with their entry). Failure to provide evidence may result in retrospective disqualification and a fine

All entries MUST be checked, with errors you wish to be corrected being reported ASAP by Friday 4 February 2022 at the very latest, via your Athletic Union, to: [email protected]

Please note: any requests for changes to the data submitted on BUCS Play may be possible but will be subject to an admin charge of £10 per change. These requests are not guaranteed and any requests for new entrants will not be accepted.

Entry list for National Finals will be published approximately one week after Regional Qualifiers. Only those persons listed on the Entry lists can participate. If you are not attending but are on the target list, please inform [email protected] to withdraw.

Registration

All competitors MUST present a photographic student ID card and Archery GB membership card or an official Archery GB Subscription Fee Receipt as proof of membership at registration on the day of the Regional Qualifier. Anyone without the relevant identification will not be permitted to compete. Registration will be completed at equipment inspection. Equipment inspection will be run in line with ArcheryGB guidance at the time of the event.

Round

Round Information

Competitors will shoot a Portsmouth Round. Recurve archers will shoot a 60cm face, whilst Compound archers will shoot a 60cm Triple Vertical Face. Shooting shall be in timed ends of 2 minutes. There will be no countdown clocks. The round will be shot in timed ends of three arrows controlled by stopwatches and whistles. Archers at the Southern and Central events will shoot in two details, with the details alternating each end and it is likely that archers will be asked to share a target face. Archers at the Northern event will shoot in a single detail. There will be 10s lead in time before each detail where archers can approach the line. Before the round begins, there will be two ends of practice – in which archers may only shoot at their allotted target, and shoot only three arrows.

Qualification to National Finals

The highest individual scorers from each category, from the three Regional events, will progress to the final (all scores in a combined seeding). There will be no novice event in the finals therefore, archers in the novice category will be included in an overall seeding and will be able to qualify for the event. If multiple archers achieve the lowest accepted score for qualification to finals, all archers on that score will be invited to compete. Hits and Golds will not be used as a tie breaker.

Only archers who have achieved the experienced qualification score at the regional event(s) will be eligible to attend the finals event.

The extraction of scores will be done as a proportionate percentage of all accepted entries to regionals, or a minimum of 8 spaces. No more than the equivalent of ⅔ of a session's worth of spaces will be allocated to any individual category; where a proportionate percentage of entries exceeds this, the category will be cut at ⅔ of the session space and the remaining spaces distributed proportionally to the other categories.
A list of spaces available will be published on the BUCS website by the 4th March 2022.

BUCS Points, Medals and Trophies

Individual and Team awards for the Novice events will be awarded at all three of the Regional Qualifiers.

Please note the following team composition:

Open Novice Team Trophy – The team score shall be the highest three non-compound scores from the eligible male or female competitors from each institution, Novice only. This will be awarded at all of the Regional Qualifiers.

Medals will be awarded for Novice archers finishing in 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each category. We are currently determining whether we will be holding presentation ceremonies at the regional qualifiers. This will be communicated in due course. There will be presentation ceremonies at the Indoor Finals.

BUCS Points will only be awarded at National Finals on 19 March 2022 for archers that qualify.

Clothing

Competitors’ clothing must conform to Archery GB rules of shooting, rule 307. Clothing must be appropriate to archery. No denim, olive drape or camouflage pattern may be worn. Footwear must enclose the toes and front of the foot. While it is an indoor event, large halls can become quite cold.

Hosting Future BUCS Competitions

BUCS would like to encourage clubs attending the competition to consider hosting an Indoor Championships or Outdoor Championships. These include Indoor Qualifiers (North, South and Central) and Indoor National Finals for next season. If you have an interest in hosting any of these prestigious events, please email [email protected]

Photography and Media

Should you or members of your institution wish to attend the event from a media perspective (e.g. photography, videography and press), each individual is required to fill the following BUCS media accreditation form.  Upon completion, entrants will receive an email prior to the event to outline the accreditation procedure regarding access, registration and arrival times.
