The students and volunteers are at the heart of the LUSL programme.

There are always opportunities to get involved and help steer the direction of LUSL. From student reps, management groups to event volunteers, we are always looking for people to get involved.

There are three main ways for you to get involved with LUSL outside of competing:

LUSL Management Group

LUSL is a joint venture between the members of the London region. It is managed in partnership with BUCS staff through the LUSL Management Group.

It is through this group of elected and appointed representatives, the London region institutions are able to direct the development and growth of the programme.

The representatives include students and staff from the London region, that being BUCS London regional staff, student chairs, institution staff and student representatives. They come together four times a year to discuss the management of the league,  how to improve the programme and engage more students. They may, as needed, invite experts from the BUCS office, the membership, NGB partners or the wider sector to attend its meetings and advise on specific issues or projects.

The groups main respnsibilities include:

  • Advising on the current sports programmes and potential new additions
  • Advising on the branding and marketing of the programme
  • Organising and delivering one-off events such as the LUSL Cup Finals
  • Helping to set out the strategic direction of the programme.

Student Reps

Our Student Reps play a vital role in helping shape key areas of the programme, including our events calendar and our marketing and social media platforms.

The team help to promote LUSL within the London region and contribute to the strategic direction of the programme.

If you're interested in becoming student rep, please contact Tanyel Mustafa (BUCS Regional Competitions Coordinator).

Officials and Coaches

LUSL is a great way to get involved with coaching or officiating.

With the nature of the competition ranging from complete beginners to competitive, there is always a wide range of fixtures for you to officiate, including at our main event of the year, LUSL Fest. Although we do not appoint officials or coaches centrally, there are always events for you to practice your skills.

With your permission, we can also store your information for when clubs are on the look out. So, if you are looking to get involved, be sure to get in contact.
