Since its inception, London Universities Sports Leagues (LUSL) has been growing and is becoming a major part of the London uni student experience.

LUSL is a regional competition offer that has been run by BUCS since 2012 for London universities and their students. There are 13 sports offered in league and knockout competitions, as well as a number of individual and team events. The LUSL programme runs during term time from October to March each year.

LUSL is a great opportunity to get involved, get active and have fun whilst competing against other teams of similar ability. It's unique in that it offers students the chance to take control and really get involved in organising competitions and fixtures to best fit you.

Students will have the opportunity throughout the year to get involved with officiating and coaching courses, have a chance to volunteer and help with the running of the competitions and guide the future sports and programmes of LUSL.

It's different from Wednesday BUCS leagues in few ways:

  • There are no BUCS points given away. It's all about getting students and staff active and having fun in a social way.
  • It puts the game in the student's hands, it's (mostly) captains that are in charge of running the fixture and league.
  • It's for everyone, staff, students, department, societies. Anyone who wants to get involved can.
  • Less travel to and from fixtures- every game is a varsity!
