Organised by the International University Sports Federation (FISU), the upcoming edition of the FISU Winter Universiade will take place in Changchun, China from 15-25 January 2027.
FISU and the organising committee have confirmed the sport programme for the Changchun 2027 Winter Universiade.

The GB Students delegation that represented the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland at the Lake Placid 2023 FISU Winter Universiade became the most successful UK of GB and NI delegation ever in the history of the competition since its inception 63 years ago in 1960.
As well as being one of the largest delegations ever, the Winter Universiade showcased the broadest representation of universities to attend the competition, achieving their best medal tally and weighting ever at a FISU Winter Universiade including two gold and one bronze medal.
The first time ever GB had won two gold medals at a Winter Universiade. Scott Johns (Manchester Met University) became the first ever athlete from Great Britain to win a Ski Cross gold whilst the Men’s Curling Team beat the United States of America to take gold, our fourth and fifth gold medallists ever respectively at a Winter Universiade. In addition, Thea Fenwick (Staffordshire University) winning bronze in the Women’s Freeski Slopestyle.
The prestigious international university multi-sport event provides a platform for students to compete alongside competitors from countries all around the world. The FISU Winter Universiade are widely recognised as a unique performance environment and as a significant development opportunity for both athletes and support staff. GB Students have rich history of sporting success as the BUCS sanctioned representatives for the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
