BUCS Super Rugby Announces Yoti Sponsorship 16/01/2018



LONDON, 16 January 2018, Rugby Vertical Ltd in association with BUCS Super Rugby has confirmed an 18 month agreement with global digital identity platform, Yoti, for sponsorship of the remainder of the 2017/18 season and the 2018/19 season in its entirety.

Supported by the RFU, Rugby Vertical Ltd and BUCS are working together to elevate the standing and promote the quality of elite University and College rugby in the UK, providing a new, exciting pathway for players into the professional game.

In 2016/17, their first season of collaboration, Rugby Vertical Ltd and BUCS drove major successes via an eight team league, culminating in a gala awards ceremony and finals match at Twickenham Stadium.

Broadcast via social media and onto TV screens at University and College campuses across the UK, the 2016/17 league achieved total viewing figures of 163,000 via YouTube and Facebook Live, increasing to 720,000 for the first half of the 2017/18 season alone.  The 2016/17 season also saw social media impressions of 250,000 per week across Twitter and Facebook, rising sharply to 1.1 million per week for the 2017/18 season so far.  Plans are now in place to secure a mainstream broadcast deal in the near future.

Yoti has confirmed its sponsorship for the remainder of the 2017/2018 season and the 2018/19 season, with a sponsorship package including a variety of digital and physical branding presence, voiced commentary mentions and a Yoti Man of The Match award. Yoti’s sponsorship will commence with the featured Round 12 fixture, where Leeds Beckett host Nottingham Trent on Wednesday 17 January at 7pm.
