The opportunity to host the BUCS Table Tennis Individual Championships 2022-2023 is now open.
The BUCS Table Tennis Individual Championships is the largest university table tennis competition in the UK. The event is held every academic year and is part of the competitive BUCS table tennis programme.
The event is held in November and fits within the national Table Tennis England calendar. The event is open to all BUCS affiliated member institutions from across the UK attracting widespread competition entries in both men’s and women’s categories. The event is a showcase for the very best university table tennis players. The event determines who the national champions are in each of the individual categories.
The event takes place over the whole weekend (both Saturday and Sunday) in November. The singles categories (men and women) feature a group stage followed by knock-out draw. The doubles categories (men, women and mixed) feature a straight knock-out draw. Finals are arranged for Saturday evening for mixed doubles and Sunday afternoon for singles & doubles depending on the event schedule.
The competition takes place over a large field of play consisting of approximately 32 table tennis tables.
Approximately 400 competitors take part in the event across the five categories. The event is supported by a total of 40 BUCS staff, officials, and volunteers.
