Round 8

Cardiff secure their first ever BUCS Super Rugby win!

MATCH 1: Cardiff secure their first BUCS Super Rugby victory against Northumbria

A stunning start from Cardiff saw the side send three tries over in the first half, leaving Northumbria pointless as they entered the break.

With the deficit in Cardiff's favour, tensions ran high with Northumbria hitting back and Cardiff receiving a red card.

Despite the challenges, Cardiff held on to their lead to nab the victory 22-14!

MATCH 2: Exeter stretch winning streak to 3

A third win in a row for Exeter moves them top above Hartpury.

Following a convincing win against Northumbria on Friday, the boys in green replicated a similar first half, entering the break with a 21-5 lead over Nottingham Trent.

Trent opened the scoring in the second half, however this did not appear to phase Exeter, who wrapped up the win 33-10.

MATCH 3: Frustration for Beckett as Hartpury snatch a late win

Whilst Beckett succumb to their third successive defeat, visitors Hartpury are bumped down to second in the absence of the bonus point to their win.

Hartpury snatched the victory thanks to a late kick in the dying moments of the match. The loss for Beckett now sees them in 9th position. Full time 17-18.

Match 4: Durham make prompt return to winning ways away at Bath

With a 13-6 lead at half time, Durham dominated throughout despite multiple challenges from Bath. With Henry Paremain advancing Durham's lead with two tries after the break, Bath were unable to bring themselves back into the game. Full time 13-27 to Durham.

MATCH 5: Loughborough fend off Met comeback to maintain unbeaten home run

With a 17-14 Cardiff Met lead at half time, it was clear that a tight contest was ahead. Loughborough took the lead quickly after the restart, but a Met try reduced the gap once more to 22-21.

Sam Roberts proved to be Lougborough's saviour once more with a try in the final 10 minutes. Despite an additional Met try in the closing moments, a missed conversion left the win in Loughborough's hands. Final Score 27-26.
