Round 4

With upsets occurring everywhere, the 2018/19 league has been blown wide open!

Match 1: Trent Return to Winning Ways

After a week off, Nottingham Trent opened Round 4 to host Cardiff Met. Despite challenges being thrown at the home side by a strong Cardiff Met team, Trent remained strong. Entering the second half 24-10, the Trent defence fought to keep Met at bay, securing the win 24-10.

Match 2: BUCS Super Rugby Newcomers Challenge Current League Leaders Durham

Although Durham managed to maintain their 100% record in the league, Cardiff ensured that this task was not an easy one. The hosts came back from the break strong, nabbing two tries to create a five-point lead. Unfortunately for Cardiff, Durham proved too strong coming back to securing their third consecutive win 24-26.

Match 3: Bath Steal Leeds Beckett's Thunder in Last Minute Show-Stopper

With a 4,000 strong audience, Bath provided their fans with an electric finish, claiming to win in the dying moments of the match. Despite Bath taking an early lead, Leeds Beckett continued to prove themselves as a league contender, fighting back to enter half time with a 12 - 17 lead in the absence of skipper Connor Lloyd.

As the match progressed, both teams fought in a tug-of-war for the lead. If Bath scored, Beckett would quickly respond, providing them with a tight 26-27 lead going into the final 5 minutes of the match. However, as this league proves time-and-time again, nothing is impossible. In the dying moments Yoti Man of the Match Steffan James conceded a penalty to Bath. With a victory impeding, Bath's Hugo Stiles kept his composure to finish the match 29-27.
