How Can BUCS Support You?

The BUCS Football programme is the largest sports programme with over 480 male and 190 female teams, across the largest league programme. BUCS also have a development team that supports the development of football

The BUCS Football Development team, compromised of a Football Development Manager and Football Development Coordinator, works in partnership with the Football Association to deliver and support the development of football across Higher Education with key partners and stakeholders in the HE sector.

BUCS offer a comphensive support and development offer to both students and staff including the following:

  • Enhancing the Profile of Football and Futsal in Higher Education
  • Funding and Bursary Opportunities

Through our new University Community Football Hub programme we aim to 'unite communities to inspire everyone to love the game'.

LUSL also offers London Universities with the opportunity to participate in regionalised football, both men's and women's competitive fixtures. To find out more on the LUSL offer, please click here.

Football is also part of the BUCS international programme, with representation of both Men's and Women's teams at the European University Competitions. In 2013, a GB home nations representation attended the World University Summer Games (Universiade), with both men's and women's team competing in what is widely recognised as the second largest multisport games in the world, behind the Olympics. Both teams medalled with the women's team bringing home the Gold, beating Mexico 6-2 and the mens winning Silver, narrowly losing to France in extra time.
