ARC i In the event that these regulations contradict the BUCS general regulations these sport specific regulations will supersede, unless specifically stated otherwise.

ARC ii In the event that these regulations contradict those of the national or international governing body these sport specific regulations will supersede, unless specifically stated otherwise.

 

ARC ii.i BUCS will offer an Indoor and Outdoor Championships. The Championships are held under the rules of Archery GB and will at all times be subject to the Rules of Shooting, save as expressly set out in these Regulations. In the event of any ambiguity between the Archery GB Rules of Shooting and these Regulations, the former shall have precedence. Further event specific requirements, rules and regulations will be contained within the entry and pre-event information for each Championship.

 

ARC iii Disputes at events: In line with REG 4.4.3, should a dispute occur at an event the event appeal panel for Archery shall comprise of the Tournament Director and a BUCS Staff Member.

 

ARC 1 Archery GB membership: All competitors must be members of Archery GB. Please refer to specific event entry information for further details.

 

ARC 2 Dress code: Archery GB Rules of Shooting rule 307 will be adhered to at both the Indoor and Outdoor Championships.

 

ARC 3 Competitions: BUCS will host annually an Indoor and Outdoor Championships with the following formats:

 

                ARC 3.1 Indoor Championships

 

ARC 3.1.1        Indoor Regional Qualifiers

At the Indoor Regional Qualifiers all competitors will shoot a Portsmouth round on a full face, except compound archers who will shoot 3 spot target faces.

 

ARC 3.1.2        Indoor National Finals

At the Indoor National Finals all competitors will shoot a qualifying round on a WA18m followed by head-to-head rounds. Recurve and compound archers will shoot on 3 spot target faces, barebow and longbow archers will shoot on a full face. Individual medals will be determined on the head-to-head results, team results will be extracted from the qualifying round scores.

 

ARC 3.1.3        Indoor National Finals Qualification

The highest individual scorers from each category over both Regional Qualifiers will progress to the National Finals (all scores in a combined seeding). There will be no novice events at the National Finals therefore the novices will be included in an overall seeding and will be able to qualify. The number of places available for each category will be listed annually in the entry information.

 

ARC 3.1.4        Novice Awards

Novice awards will be made at each Indoor Regional Qualifier as there are no separate novice events at the Indoor National Finals.

 

ARC 3.2 Outdoor Championships

Championship (Experienced) Men’s Round: Gents WA1440 (90m, 70m, 50m, 30m)

Championship (Experienced) Women’s Round: Ladies WA1440 (70m, 60m, 50m, 30m)

Trophy (Novice) Men’s Round: Cadet Gents WA1440 (70m, 60m, 50m, 30m)

Trophy (Novice) Women’s Round: Cadet Ladies WA1440 (60m, 50m, 40m, 30m)

ARC 4 Event categories

 

ARC 4.1 Individual: For both Championships the events run will be those as listed in Appendix 1 (subject to entry numbers).

 

ARC 4.2 Team

 

ARC 4.2.1 At both Championships there will be Men's Experienced team and Women's Experienced team categories. The team scores shall be the highest three non-compound scores from the eligible members from each institution. Novices may be included in an Experienced team at the Indoor Regional Qualifiers only.

 

ARC 4.2.2 At the Indoor Regional Qualifiers and Outdoor Championships there will be an Open Novice team. The team scores shall be the highest three non-compound scores from the eligible members from each institution.

 

ARC 4.2.3 At both Championships there will be an Open Compound team. The team scores shall be the highest two compound scores from the eligible members from each institution. Novices may be included at both Championships.

 

ARC 4.3 Eligibility for Novice Categories: Only entrants who have not held insurance with an Archery Governing Body prior to, and who have commenced shooting during, the current academic year shall be eligible for entry into the Novice categories.
