Christmas Seminar 2015

Thursday 10th December at The Museum of London

The BUCS Christmas Seminar & AGM  2015 was held at The Museum of London.

Despite torrential rain and floods in the North and signalling problems into Waterloo over 130 members were in attendance. Delegates engaged in discussion and debate in the Members' Forum, and were also provided with a comprehensive update on the Strategy Review and BUCS Ratings Project.

BUCS Intern Kiri Madhani and Student Director Alex Reilly launched the #TakeAStand Campaign targeting anti-social behaviour in sport and the toolkit available to members. Grace Clarke, Student Officer and sabbatical at York and colleague Tom Underwood gave an insight into Mental Health in Sport and the actions and interventions being employed at York to support students.

Delegates took advantage of the networking opportunities over lunch, catching up with colleagues from across the UK and to continue conversations with Hudl, who were the event sponsor, about their online video analysis software for athletes and coaches.

The Christmas Seminar & AGM drew to a close another busy year both BUCS office and members but looking forward to BUCS Nationals and BBW in Sheffield and Conference at University of Warwick in July as well as a plethora of other events and Championships over the next six months.
