LGBT+ Research & Insight

In order to deliver a relevant and engaging offer, BUCS and all member institutions seeking to develop their engagement of LGBT+ students in sport, must make consistent use of sector and industry insight and research pieces.

Below is a small number of reports summarising research projects undertaken by BUCS members and other partner organisations. They provide a variety of recommendations which could be considered as you develop your engagement of LGBT+ students in sport and physical activity:

Sport Wales - Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender equality in Sport

In late 2012, Sport Wales worked with Stonewall Cymru to consult a range of LGBT individuals to discuss their experiences in sport and collate a number of recommendations around how to tackle homophobia and encourage gay people to take part in sport.
