Get Involved in Rowing

In partnership with BUCS, British Rowing aims to support indoor and outdoor rowing activity across the BUCS participant network whether it be for fun, fitness or competition.

A range of new programs have been developed to support both student unions, clubs and university health and fitness providers.

Go Row IndoorBritish Rowing's university sector objectives are to:

 - Address barriers to participation and growth in all forms of student rowing

- Introduce Go Row Indoor

- Expand Intra-Mural and UIRS activity

- Support alternative ways to go on water rowing


Vision of Success

- Grow the number of student rowers and the quality of their experience

- Growth in indoor rowing event participation

- A generation of indoor rowers that feel connected to the sport
 

To find out more on how to get involved, British Rowing has a range of programs, products and initiatives to ensure every student has the best experience in their rowing participation:

Go Row Indoor- British Rowing’s new indoor rowing programme, aiming to get everyone rowing whether it be for fun, fitness or competition. 

Go Row Indoor Workshop - British Rowing has developed a new REPS (Register of Exercise Professionals) accredited Go Row Indoor training Workshop for Fitness Professionals. 

Go Row Indoor Club Model- A new indoor rowing club model that provides all the training, support and materials needed to run Go Row Indoor classes within a university rowing club or through a new partnership with a club and gym provider. 

Recreational Rowing- Try the sport and take part on the water without the pressures of racing. 

University Indoor Rowing Series- A Joint indoor rowing competition program with BUCS and British Rowing.

Intra-Mural- A great way to set up and run indoor rowing as part of university intra mural leagues or events. View a Case Study from a university that delivers rowing as part of their Intramural programme here. Contact British Rowing for more information.

Challenges and Events- Take part in a great range of online leagues, challenges or charity events.

Live Rowing- British Rowing has partnered with Live Rowing, a free to download interactive app for maximising your indoor rowing experience and workouts. 

Row Activ- A new in development app designed by British Rowing to support beginners onto the indoor rowing machine. Keep your eyes on their social media channels for updates on when this becomes available.
