BUCS Announces Official BUCS Big Wednesday Seating Partner 06/03/2018

WITH less than a month to go until team sport finals culminate at the University of Nottingham for BUCS Big Wednesday, PopUpArena has agreed to provide both indoor and outdoor seating for venues.

British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) is delighted to confirm a partnership with PopUpArena to become the Official Event Seating Partner for BUCS Big Wednesday on 21 March 2018.

PopUpArena use seating and other arena products to transform spaces, encouraging people to either watch or partake in sports. Having worked with a range of other National Governing Bodies such as England Hockey, the LTA and the RFU, PopUpArena are well drilled in supporting high class sporting events in the UK.

BUCS Big Wednesday powered by Yoti is one of the highest spectated events in the BUCS sporting calendar, with over 1500 individuals expecting to be in attendance. With 14 sports, 52 fixtures and 104 teams present on the day, the atmosphere is always one to remember, with university colours covering the side-lines.

PopUpArena will be providing indoor seating for hundreds of spectators to enjoy a range of sports on the day of the event, from basketball to badminton at the University of Nottingham’s state-of-the-art David Ross Sports Village. In addition, PopUpArena will provide an outdoor grandstand for both the men’s and women’s championship football finals at Highfields Sports Complex, the conclusion of the BUCS football season.

At BUCS, we aim to deliver high quality events that enhance the experience for student athletes and spectators. By working with PopUpArena, we are able to utilise the spaces alongside indoor courts and outdoor pitches, to ensure our spectators have the best possible experience whilst watching the team finals at BUCS Big Wednesday.

Commenting on behalf of BUCS, Senior Events Manager, Jo Smith said “BUCS Big Wednesday is the pinnacle of the team sport calendar. We aim to deliver a highly professional event to showcase some of the best sport in the higher education sector, whilst giving spectators the opportunity to watch the sport live and support their teams. PopUp Arena’s seating systems will help us ensure spectators have the best possible experience and enjoy the fixtures whether they’re taking place indoors or out”.

Guy Bracewell, PopUpArena’s Director added “Our partnership with BUCS Big Wednesday is a unique opportunity for PopUpArena to engage and showcase how our mobile event seating can transform university campus spaces for sports and cultural activities. We look forward to sharing our experiences working in partnership with Loughborough University who purchased their own mobile event 360 seating system for year round use across their campus and with York University who hired a 1000 capacity event seating system for indoor and outdoor use across their three day Roses Varsity event”.
