What does an active campus look like? 24/02/2016

Let’s Get Active!

We love seeing people get active in any form, our Warwick Active Programme offers a wide range of activities to encourage people of all abilities to participate and get moving.

We think it’s important that sport is accessible to everyone, which is why our programme offers a more relaxed, social and friendly feel to getting active.

Our non-committal Rock-Up & Play programme allows students and staff to take part in a fantastic range of activities during the week, from Thai Boxing to Ultimate Frisbee; there is something for everyone.

This week we are in the middle of the ultimate fitness challenge across campus; our ‘Running & Swimming Grid Challenge’ which sees teams going head to head to collect as many points as possible.  This brings together people of all abilities and creates a great team spirit. This year we have record numbers taking part! This follows straight on from last week’s popular UV Squash event, with students daubing themselves in paint to play squash in the dark.

We have a wide ranging selection of organised Active Leagues for staff and students to enjoy. Leagues are designed for people of all abilities and gives people the chance to partake in their favourite sport or try a new sport in a casual and enjoyable environment. Lots of our teams sign up with friends from their club, hall, society or department; a fantastic way of bringing the University together.

Our courses give people the chance to learn a new sport or brush up on rusty skills across an array of activities. These encompass everything from swimming to yoga and engage people at all levels.

Our aim is to offer everyone an opportunity to get active every day, in a way that suits them. To find out more, visit the Active page online at www.warwick.ac.uk/sport/active.
