Venues announced for BUCS Golf Tour 2015-16 04/08/2015

BUCS has announced the venues for its individual strokeplay championships for the 2015-16 season, including some familiar favourites and exciting new courses across the UK. The venues selected will comprise the BUCS Golf Tour 2015-16.

This year sees the addition of two new events, increasing the total number of tour events eligible students can participate in. The new inclusions of the Stirling International (9th - 11th September) and the English & Welsh Championships at West Lancashire (29th - 31st March) bring the total number of BUCS Golf Tour qualifying events to ten, with five events in Scotland, and five in England and Wales.

Established and ever-popular events in Scotland return to Ladybank (4th - 6th October), Crail (31st October - 1st November) and Dundonald (10th - 12th March) in Fife and Ayrshire respectively. The 94th SSS Championships play out at Moray (27th - 29th March) at the same time the new English & Welsh Championships start as competitors fight for the chance to gain vital qualifying points and climb the order of merit.

Some of the most outstanding golf courses in the UK have been chosen as tour venues and BUCS have been keen to reflect the quality of play with the qualifty of course. Little Aston (12th - 13th October) and Northumberland (19th - 21st October) provide two challenging opportunities early in the tour for both returning and new students to establish themselves.

Trevose, which has hosted the Exeter Invitational for the 3rd time earlier this year, will once again welcome golfers back following the winter break (27th - 29th February). Soon after the tour visits The Addington (7th - 9th March) for the penultimate qualifying event in England.

The Duke's, St Andrews, will play host to the end of season finale - the BUCS Golf Tour Finals (6th - 8th April). BUCS will be returning to the magnificent heathland course where Cormac Sharvin and Gemma Batty (both University of Stirling) were crowned BUCS men's and ladies' champions respectively for 2014-15.

All BUCS Golf Tour events for 2015-16 will be a minimum of 54 holes, with the exception of the SSS Championships, English & Welsh Championships and BUCS Golf Tour Finals (all 72 holes). For the first time all BUCS Golf Tour events are eligible as counting events for WAGR™.

Entries for the Stirling International are now open on BUCScore (entries close on Friday 14th August).
