Introduction Scottish Student Sport (SSS) seeks an outstanding individual to join the senior staff team. Working closely with the Chief Operating Officer and Regional SSS staff, the successful candidate will manage and co-ordinate SSS’ sports development work, with particular emphasis on building local and regional infrastructure, promoting best practice and developing key partnerships with internal and external groups.

Salary: Salary Grade 6 plus 15%: £32,581 to £37,738 (salary will be pro-rata for approx. 7-month appointment)

Contract : Fixed Term Contract until 31/07/21 Full Time 35 hours per week Secondment (internal or external) possible

About SSS

SSS is a members’ organisation for colleges and universities across Scotland, providing students with sport and physical activity opportunities. SSS is at the heart of a network of over 600 clubs and just shy of 40,000 participants. It delivers organised sports competition and a range of sports development services to support excellence and champion the role of student sport. SSS is supported by sportscotland, SFC and BUCS. The Role The Head of Development is a key member of the SSS senior staff, with responsibility for all Development aspects of the SSS.

Strategic Plan : working with members, volunteers and partners to build capacity and improve the quality of provision within student sport.

The successful candidate will line manage SSS’ three Regional Development Coordinators, and report to the Chief Operating Officer.

The post requires a demonstrable track record in sports development and project management and proven successful line management experience.
