Following the publishing of a request for invite, we have reviewed all of the plans submitted by teams and have concluded that with only six teams able to satisfactorily comply with the requirements expected to be in place at the time of the event, that there was no margin of error in the event a team was forced to withdraw. This coupled with the fact the event would not be graded as a national championship and there was no guarantee that it would be possible for teams to attend from Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland meant it would not have served BUSA, BUCS or student sailors well and we have taken the decision to cancel the event for 2021.
