Hockey remains the second largest team sport in BUCS with over 550 men’s and women’s teams playing in 7 tiers of the league structure. Teams compete in a league programme throughout the season from October to February. Each team’s position in the league pyramid determines whether they qualify for the Championship, Trophy or Conference knockout competitions culminating in the Team Championship Finals.
The LUSL Hockey programme runs Men's, Women's and Mixed leagues as well as Cup competitions.
The Hockey Sports Advisory Group provides technical and sport specific advice to the BUCS Office. Click here see more about the group, their members and their priorities, hopes and aims for university hockey.
The BUCS Sport Development Team works in partnership with The Home Nation Sport Councils and with key Hockey partners and stakeholders in the HE sector.
