Netball

Netball is the largest female sport within the BUCS programme with over 400 teams competing each season. Teams compete in a league programme throughout the season from October to February. Each team’s position in the league pyramid determines whether they qualify for the Championship, Trophy or Conference knockout competitions culminating in the Team Championship Finals. The Trophy and Championship Finals take place at the BUCS showpiece finals, BUCS Big Wednesday.

The LUSL Netball competition currently has six leagues that run on a Monday evening.

The Netball Sports Advisory Group provide technical and sports specific advice to the BUCS Office. Click here to view the membership of the group.

The BUCS Sport Development Team works in partnership with The Home Nation Sport Councils and with key netball partners and stakeholders in the HE sector. The aim is to provide students and members with development support and access to coaching, workforce and volunteering opportunities, participation programmes, NGB interventions and offers, disability sport initiatives plus funding and bursary opportunities. Information on current interventions and opportunities can be found under the 'Get Involved' tab to the left hand side of this page.
