The BUCS Rugby League programme offers a comprehensive programme for male rugby league teams, working in partnership with the RFL, the programme contains a Premier League, which is split into north and south, followed by a tiered regional league structure. There is also a Rugby League Championship, Trophy and Conference Cup knock-out competition.
Women's Rugby League is not currently sanctioned, however BUCS and the RFL are working together to develop the women's game in HE with a view to it being sanctioned in the future.
The BUCS Sport Development Team works in partnership with The Home Nation Sport Councils and with key Rugby League partners and stakeholders in the HE sector. The aim is to provide students and members with development support and access to coaching, workforce and volunteering opportunities, participation programmes, NGB interventions and offers, disability sport initiatives plus funding and bursary opportunities.
