Date: 17th-19th October 2014
Venue: Fistral Beach, Newquay
The BUCS Surf Championships is Europe's largest surf competition with around 350 surfers taking on the Fistral waves, in a bid to become the BUCS Champion 2014. Have a look at the Entry Info for more details on the competition and to find out how you can take part.
When the competition ends for the day, the relaxed atmosphere continues in the surfers’ village. Click here to book your accommodation, and to get your wrist band for all of the apres surf action. Have you heard who is headlining at Sailors yet?!
If you are not a competitive surfer but you love the beach life and you don't want to miss out on a fun weekend with your friends? Do not fear; we have it covered! At the BUCS Surf Championships there is loads of activity taking place outside of the water:
Win the chance to provide the ‘soundtrack to the surf’ by entering the inaugural BUCS DJ Competition.
Submit your mix for the chance to play Fistral Beach, and who knows; maybe we will be showcasing your entry to thousands via BUCS media.
Surfing isn’t the only sport pulling in the crowds on Fistral. Feel the sand between your toes by signing up for the BUCS Beach Volleyball competition, or the Beach Ultimate tournament. These social tournaments are a great way to kick off your season and introduce your new freshers’ to university sport.
At BUCS we know how hard work socialising and surfing are, we also understand the importance of preparation and recovery. This is why we have teamed up with High Performance Cornwall, and Falmouth Uni Sport and Fitness, to develop an onsite Conditioning and Surf Fitness Hub. Pay it a visit to ensure that you perform your best, be it in the water or on the dance floor.
Fancy working (reasonably) hard and playing even harder? Then why not help out at the Surf Champs as a volunteer? There are lots of operational and media roles available and we think you will look great in one of our BUCS volunteer hoodies!
We are really excited about this event and we hope you are too. If you have any questions, or need more information, please get in touch.
See you at the beach!
