The BUCS Badminton programme is one of the largest with over 300 teams regularly playing in the leagues on a Wednesday and over 600 competitors taking part in the 3 day individual championships as part of the BUCS Nationals in Sheffield.
Mixed Badminton is also offered as part of the LUSL programme.

The international University Sports Federation (FISU) organise the World University Games (the Universiade) every two years. The Universiade is widely recognised as the second largest multisport Games in the world after the Olympics and progressively has risen to World Class in scale and standard, with over 10,000 participants from 150+ countries.
EUSA (European Universities Sports Association) events are ’tournament winners’ tournaments for Universities and allow the top Universities in the BUCS Competitions to compete against the best Universities in Europe.
EUSA events take place each year, and alternate annually between the EUSA Games (a single multi-sport event) and the EUSA Championships (a series of single-sport events).

The BUCS Sport Development Team works in partnership with The Home Nation Sport Councils and with key Badminton partners and stakeholders in the HE sector. The aim is to provide students and members with development support and access to coaching, workforce and volunteering opportunities, participation programmes, NGB interventions and offers, disability sport initiatives plus funding and bursary opportunities.
