The BUCS domestic programme continues to grow with more teams and individuals competing in university sport than ever before. In 2014/15 team entries in the BUCS leagues increased by 4% to 4,843 and individual entries up to over 29,000.
Representing your university in BUCS competition is a proud moment for any student, and there are 47 sports in which students can do this and earn BUCS points for their university. Some will even be lucky enough to compete in world class venues such as Twickenham Stadium where our Rugby Championship finals are held every year.
For those who choose individual sports the BUCS Gatorade Nationals are the highlight of the season. The Nationals in their third year in 2015, are the largest annual multi-sport event in the UK attracting almost 6000 athletes to compete for national honours. BUCS Big Wednesday is the culmination of the teams seasons with championship finals in more than 20 sports all being played on one day and at one venue.
We are also working to provide more opportunities for students to play sport, and in 2013 launched LUSL (the London University Sports League) that enabled universities within the London Region to compete locally outside of our national domestic programme.
To find out what opportunities there are within your sport click on 'sport' in the header menu above and choose your sport from those listed.
