Sports Management Group
The SMG is responsible for the development of Snooker and offers technical advice to the BUCS Sports Programme Manager throughout the season. The SMG members for the 2011-12 season are:
Patrick McWilliams - Chair
Patrick was first appointed to the Snooker SMG in 1994 at the formation of BUSA and was previously involved with UAU.
Patrick attended Queens University Belfast from 1982-87 and the University of Ulster from 1993-94 during which time he competed at BUSA Snooker in 1994. He was also Snooker Club Secretary whilst at University.
Jamie Thompson (formerly of Imperial) - vice-chair and coordinator of English Unis team
David Blake (formerly of Cardiff University and Welsh Universities Home Nations) - Welsh students' representative
Derek Dishington (present captain of St Andrew's Pool and Snooker Club and captained them to this year's snooker Shield title in Leeds. He is a university international at snooker and pool) - Scottish students' representative
Tom Foley - English Student's Representative - Tom is Club Captain of the University of Southampton Snooker Club. He has competed at BUCS championships for the previous six years in both Snooker and Pool and has been selected as an England representative for the BUCS(HE) snooker home (inter)nationals competition for the last three years.
