ARRIVAL: 
All participants are asked to arrive for 8.45am. Please arrive plenty of time prior to your scheduled start time as all individuals will need to accredit before being allowed to enter restricted zones. Please visit  www.bucs.org.uk/accreditation . All individual players must register at the accreditation desk on Friday 12 March at the Weigh In at Ice Sheffield.  

Upon arrival all players on the team sheet and 3 named officials will receive an accreditation pass. All
players will also receive a BUCS Championships T-shirt.

ALL PLAYERS MUST BRING THEIR BJA AFFILIATED LICENSE TO THE WEIGH IN.

NO BJA LICENSE – NO COMPETING

YOUR TEAM CAPTAIN MUST PRESENT STUDENT IDENTIFICATION FOR ALL SQUAD MEMBERS. IF A
TEAM MEMBER DOES NOT HAVE HIS/HER STUDENT IDENTIFICATION THEY WILL NOT BE PERMITTED
TO PLAY.  NUS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

WEIGH-IN: 
ALL INDIVIDUAL PLAYERS MUST WEIGH AND BOOK IN FRIDAY AT THE 18.00-20.30.
Only in exceptional circumstances will competitors be allowed to weigh-in on Saturday morning via a booking
system no later than 8.30am. These competitors will only be allowed one weigh in, NO TIME TO RUN WEIGHT OFF. Players that do not pre book this will not be included on the sheets. Competitors are to contact the BUCS Office to request a Saturday weigh-in at matt.judson@bucs.org.uk  

MEMBERSHIP:
Competitors are required to be members of the British Judo Association (BJA). The following Judo bodies are
affiliated to the BJA;
Judo Scotland
Welsh Judo Association
Northern Ireland Judo Federation
British Judo Council (Not BJC MAC)
Amateur Judo Association 

Competitors belonging to any of these organisations will be eligible to compete.

GENERAL: 
*The method of competition shall be pools followed by knockout with the repecharge system.
*The duration of the DAN GRADE AND TEAM contests shall be 5 minutes.
*The duration of the KYU GRADE contests shall be 4 minutes
*The Championship will be organised under the contest rules of the BJA.  All competitors and reserves
must be current individual members of the BJA on the day of the Championship and each club represented
in the team event must have current club membership of the BJA.

AWARDS:  
BUCS medals will be awarded, dependent on the number of entrants in any given weight category, as follows: -
(i) 2 entrants - gold medal only
(ii) 3 entrants - gold and silver medal
(iii) 4 or 5 entrants - gold, silver and one bronze medal
(iv) 6 or more entrants - gold, silver and two bronze medals

OFFICIALS: 
BUCS Malcolm Limerick and Alan Medley have arranged officials and referees for all of the Finals.

CHANGING: 
Changing facilities will be available but once you have changed please keep your possessions with you
and do not leave them in the changing rooms as you will not have exclusive use of the facilities.

MEDICAL: 
There will be one physiotherapist mat side throughout and a doctor with two paramedics.

SPECTATORS
Universities are encouraged to invite spectators and fans to the BUCS Championships. Entry is £3 per person and this gives access to all 26 sports and 18 venues. Tickets will not be pre-sold, but are available at every venue. View the ticket information here.

PHOTOGRAPHY & FILMING
Please note that by attending the BUCS Championships as a competitor, official, volunteer or spectator you agree to your image being used by BUCS and approved BUCS third parties (ie Sky Sports, BBC or ITV). This may include using your image in photographs, live and pre-recorded footage online, in print and/or television programming to promote BUCS, the BUCS Championships and BUCS event sponsors and funders.

All media and photographers will be accredited by BUCS and will have appropriate identification at the event. If, at the event, you become aware of unaccredited photographers or crews please notify a member of the event team immediately.

The official event photographer is DE Photo. Pictures from the event will available for sale on-site at most venues and online after the event from www.dephoto.biz/bucs
