BUCS has supported the development of Futsal both within the Higher Education Sector and across Britain for just over four years and are keen to continue to do so. As such, BUCS is looking for between 8 and 10 universities to apply to the FAs Small Sided Development Fund in partnership with us; the aim being to develop university intra mural Futsal provision while supporting national player and workforce developments.
The FAs Small Sided Development Fund is specifically targeted at supporting the growth of small sided football in England. It particularly focuses on attracting new players into Futsal, or encouraging those players that have dropped out of the 11-a-side game to continue playing in small-sided formats of the game.
BUCS believes these objectives can be met by universities right across the sector, many of which have, for some time, been pushing to increase participation within their institutions.
To support the university, BUCS and FA vision of more students playing, universities can apply for up to £10K in financial support in this funding round (please note capital costs (e.g. building and infrastructure) are not eligible). This will be coordinated by BUCS ensuring the overall application supports the games national development needs and as such increase the likelihood of success.
Universities interested in being an application partner should look to achieve at least one of the following and click here to down load the more information and the application form:
• Significantly increase adults small sided football participation;
• Attracting adult players who do not normally play any form of the football into the game;
• Significantly enhances the quality and satisfaction of participants’ football experience;

• Create a two way link with adult 11-a-side football;
• Be innovative and unique.
