'University sport - why it matters'

Bookings for the 2013 BUCS Conference at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh on 9-12 July are now open. Bookings will close on Friday 14 June.

'University sport – Why it matters' has been chosen as the theme of this year’s conference as the combined effect of the current economic climate and increased level of competition means that prospective students and parents are looking at other services that offer added value. The conference programme will address sub-themes focusing on the broader contribution sport can make to employability, community engagement and rankings & recruitment.

Building on the success of last year’s programme format our intention is to offer a choice of seminars / workshops during each breakout session. This will help to ensure that the programme has broad appeal and is of interest to Sabbaticals, Administrators, Sport Development staff, Senior Managers, Health & Fitness staff, Facility Operators and those involved in Marketing & Business Development.

The cost to attend BUCS Conference in 2013 is £399 for a full delegate place which includes all conference sessions, all meals, teas and coffees, 3 nights en-suite accommodation and a ticket for the BUCS Awards Dinner. Day delegate rates are charged at £90 per day.
