BUCS Championships Logo 2012The culmination of the BUCS Volleyball Championships & Trophy will be at The BUCS Championships which will take place in Sheffield in March 2012.

If you are not ready to start your match at the scheduled time you will be deemed to have conceded a walkover.

CAPTAINS MEETING:
All Championship Teams must be represented at the briefing, which will be held in the small hall at 1700 on Friday 16 March.

Trophy Team Captains should report to Accreditation upon arrival on Saturday and will be briefed individually.

REGULATIONS:
Championship matches will have a five minute general warm up and five minutes shared use of the net.
Match times advertised, other than first games of the day, are indicative only and all matches will follow on from the conclusion of the previous match. Trophy matches will have a ten minute general warm up, and ten minutes shared net. Down time on courts is not to be used for warm up or practice by teams. All Championship matches will be best of three sets with the third set having no ceiling. Trophy matches will best of five sets, with a fifth set having no ceiling. All sets won by two clear points.

ARRIVAL:
Please arrive plenty of time prior to your scheduled start time as all teams will need to accredit before being allowed to enter restricted zones. Please see further accreditation information below and at www.bucs.org.uk/accreditation.
 

YOUR TEAM CAPTAIN MUST PRESENT STUDENT IDENTIFICATION FOR ALL SQUAD MEMBERS. IF A TEAM MEMBER DOES NOT HAVE HIS/HER STUDENT IDENTIFICATION THEY WILL NOT BE PERMITTEDTO PLAY. NUS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

PARKING:
There is no space for coaches to park at the centre.

OFFICIALS:
BUCS has appointed match offcials.

CHANGING:
Male and female changing facilities will be available but once you have changed please keep your possessions with you and do not leave them in the changing rooms as you will not have exclusive use of the facilities.
 
 
MEDICAL:
There will be a physiotherapists at All Saints during the weekend.
 
 
SQUAD & KIT:
If you have a team in the finals you will have been emailed a team sheet. Please complete this and return to the BUCS Office by the date and time detailed on the team sheet. Any player not on this list will not be able to compete at the finals.Teams can bring a maximum squad of 12 players for the Championships.
 
 
CATERING:
The All Saints cafeteria will be open between 12 midday and 3pm on Saturday and 12 midday - 3:00pm on Sunday.
 
 
BEHAVIOUR:
All teams and supporters will be expected to behave in manner befitting to the standard of the event. For further guidance please read the BUCS statement on alcohol in the policies section of the website. Teams are reminded of General Regulation REG 17.1 which is also available from www.bucs.org.uk/rules (general regulations).
 
  
ACCREDITATION:
An accreditation system will be in place at the BUCS Championships. Accreditation will be used to ensure that only competitors have access to competition areas within a venue. For many sports, competitors will also need to produce certain sports specific documentation to obtain accreditation. Once an individual has received a pass it must be worn at all times.

IF ANY MEMBER OF A TEAM OR INDIVIDUAL SPORT DOES NOT PROVIDE THE RELEVANT DOCUMENTATION THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO COMPETE AND WILL ONLY BE ABLE TO ENTER THE VENUES AS A SPECTATOR. THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS MADE TO THIS RULE.
 
Accreditation will also allow competitors and team staff to enter all other venues free of charge in order to spectate in designated areas.
 
Please bear in mind that whilst every endeavour will be made to make accreditation a quick process, at key times it could be busy and therefore may take some time. It is advised that teams and individuals should allow adequate time to ensure all relevant people can pass through Accreditation in time for their matches/events. There will be no opportunity to circumvent this accreditation procedure.
 
NO ACCREDITATION, NO COMPETITION.
 
Lost Passes:
If an athlete or support staff loses his/her accreditation pass there will be a £5.00 charge for a replacement pass.
