About the BUCS Judo Programme

There is one Championship offered within the programme which forms part of the BUCS Championships. The competition is divided into various weight categories with two grades offered in each competition. The two grades are Dan grade and restricted Kyu grade.

Judo has a dedicated Sports Manager and Event Coordinator responsible for delivering the programme. The Sports Manager’s main role is to work with key partners to develop and deliver a strategy assisting the development of judo within Higher Education. The Sport Advisory Group for judo is made up of volunteers with an excellent knowledge of judo and higher education sport. The group provides technical support to staff and assists with the delivery of the championships.
