Sport Development Strategy (2013-16)

Following consultation with the sector and using feedback from sport development consultation events  BUCS has produced a new three year sport development strategy for 2013-16. 

The new strategy cover’s three themes which have been identified as key areas of engagement with and on behalf of the sector namely:

• Relationships and Advocacy
• NGB Partnerships
• HEI support

BUCS Sport Development Strategy 2010-12

The BUCS Sport Development strategy 2012-12 was designed to provide detail to BUCS members, partners and external organisations of how the work of the BUCS sport development team impacts upon sport in higher education. Sport has become an increasingly important contributor to the strategic goals of universities within England and is one of the elements in a university’s strategic portfolio which can and does impact locally, nationally and internationally.

BUCS Partnership with Sport England

BUCS in conjunction with Sport England has developed a higher education partnership plan with a view to increasing sports participation in the higher education sector in England. The partnership plan can be viewed below

Sport England HE Partnership Plan - July 2009

Sport England conducted an audit of higher education sport in England from July - September 2009. 64 universities returned the audit document which included information on student satisfaction, participation levels, university workforce, club development and club links and facilities.
