HOME NATIONS 2010
EDINBURGH & HERIOT-WATT UNIVERSITIES
12-15
APRIL 2010
No event celebrates the UK-wide appeal of BUCS quite like the biennial Home Nations Tournament. This exciting and unique event pits squads of sportsmen and women from English, Northern Irish, Scottish and Welsh Universities against one another in some of BUCS’ most popular sports across three days of intense competition.
This celebration of performance level student sport (formerly known as BUGS) returned to the City of Edinburgh – the site of five previous editions of the event. As in 2008, Edinburgh and Heriot-Watt Universities kindly donated their facilities to the tournament providing the participants with access to top class playing arenas including the National Hockey Academy at Peffermill and the Heart of Midlothian FC Academy facilities at Riccarton.
During the event 500+ competitors represented their country of residence with the ultimate aim of being crowned BUCS Home Nations champions. The sports contested in 2010 were as follows:
Basketball (M+W)
Football (M+W)
Hockey (M+W)
Netball (W)
Rugby 7s (M+W)
