Higher Education sport is reliant on a trained, competent workforce to deliver high quality opportunities to enhance the student experience. Every week 1000's of coaches, officials, HEI staff and others in many different roles contribute to making sport happen at a variety of different levels. BUCS has committed resource to working with National partners and members to ensure that value is added to HE sport workforce development at national, regional and local levels.

The Sport Development team is managing relationships with several national partners including sportscoach UK, Volunteer England, sports leaders UK & several National Governing Bodies of Sport to create interventions and programmes to improve the quality of workforce in the sector. The team is also working with individuals HEI's to develop their on campus programmes including club development training, volunteer programmes and coach education programmes.
