BUCS EQUESTRIAN MINI LEAGUES 2012-13
The BUCS Equestrian competitions have expanded with 160 teams taking part, with 21 leagues the Championship and 23 in the Trophy. To try and ensure that leagues are not rushed at the end of the season, BUCS and the Equestrian Sports Advisory Group has decided to allocate each team in each league a window in the calendar in which they have to host one of the league rounds.
Where possible mini leagues have been made up of 4 teams to ensure each team has 4 matches in the mini league season. However given the numbers this has not always been possible and therefore some leagues have only 3 teams. Should late entries be received and they are geographically convenient we will place teams in these leagues.
In the Championship, where regions have 4 leagues, the regional round will be made up of the 4 mini league winners and 2 best individuals from each league not in the winning team. Where regional round venues are not able to accommodate the extra teams then the winners of the leagues with 3 teams in that region will be required to play off in the fourth date slot at the venue of the team with the most points scored followed by least penalties. In this instance only one individual from each of the leagues of 3 will progress. In the Trophy, where regions have 4 leagues, the regional round will be made up of the 4 mini league winners.
The team that is due to host is listed on the attached Championship and Trophy leagues for the 2012/13 season. Hosting must be done in the listed order and there is a window of dates that you can arrange to host, which is listed below. Please host a date in agreement with the other teams in your league.

League Match Hosting Dates 2012-13 (Submitted via online form. Updated 06/03/13) Teams are reminded that dates should be submitted to BUCS via the online form 21 days before the hosting widnow begins and to captains 21 days before the date of the competition.

Dates for hosting each league match are:
First Named Team 19 October 2012 – 28 November 2012
Second Named Team 29 November 2012 – 29 January 2013
Third Named Team 30 January 2013 – 20 February 2013
Fourth Named Team 21 February 2013 – 13 March 2013
The hosting order has been set so that each university will not have more than one team hosting in each window of dates. For example, Edinburgh 1st as the second named team in League 3 will host their Championship round in the second window (between 29/11/12 and 29/1/13) and Edinburgh 2nd as the fourth named team in League 2 will host their Trophy round in the fourth window (between 21/02/13 and 13/03/13).
All league rounds must be completed by 13 March 2013; there will be no extension to this deadline under any circumstances.
