BUCS Awards 2010The annual BUCS Awards ceremony took place at Keele Hall on Thursday 15 July 2010.

The evening, in association with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP,  recognised the contribution of students, staff, volunteers and officials involved in the management and administration of higher education sport and honour the success of students competing in BUCS and international university competitions.

The awards available include:

  • Sportsman of the Year
  • Sportswoman of the Year, in association with the Women's Sport & Fitness Foundation
  • Team of the Year, in association with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP
  • The International Development award
  • BUCS Unsung Hero
  • The 1NSPIRED talent award, in association with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP
  • The Diversity in Sport award, in association with Sporting Equals 
  • Outstanding Contribution to Higher Education Sport

 

The following awards will also be presented, but will not available for nomination:

  • The Red Ball Award, in association with Right To Play
  • Most Improved University
  • Overall Champions
  • BUCS Home Nations

 

For 2010, BUCS in partnership with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP introduced two new awards to recognise individuals, teams or projects that have inspired others to take up sport and tackled barriers to participation.

 


Steve Parry, Olympic medallist, hosted the first BUCS Ball at Keele Hall on 3 September 2009, with over 350 members and guests celebrating a year of university sport.

The evening, in association with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, awarded universities, teams and individual athletes who had been integral to the success of higher education sport during the 2008/09 season.
