AGM

AGM 2010

The BUCS AGM will take place on Thursday 15th July 2010 in the Westminster Theatre, Chancellor’s Building, Keele University, Keele, Staffordshire, ST5 5BG at 9:00am as part of the BUCS Conference.

A full agenda for the AGM will be sent out 21 days before the event and papers one week before the AGM. Members may register and collect their voting cards at the venue from 07:30am on Thursday 15th July 2010.

As set out in the Articles of Association for British Universities & Colleges Sport, members are invited to stand for positions within BUCS.

Members are now invited to stand for the following positions within BUCS as follows:

AGM Agenda and Proxy Voting Forms as well as all the nominations received and personal election statements are now available here
 


-    Four Student Officers (of which the student with most votes will be selected to sit on the Board)
-    Four Staff Officers

All of the above will sit on BUCS Advisory Group.

-    Chair of Disciplinary Committee (this post does not sit on Advisory Group)

Attached to this document are the regulations that will be used to run the elections at the AGM of BUCS on Thursday 15th July 2010. In future these regulations will be subject to review and approval by the Board. Also attached is the election procedures document, which sets out in a little more detail the positions available for election, including terms of office and portfolios as appropriate. A nomination for is also attaché, which must be attached to any election statement.

As set out in the Articles, members should be given 45 days notice of positions available for election; nominations must be completed 30 days prior to the election; and notice of those standing for positions will be circulated to the membership 21 days prior to the AGM. Critical dates are therefore as follows:

Nominations open Tuesday 18th May 2010
Nominations close   5:00pm Monday 14th June 2010
Publications of nominations and election statements Thursday 24th June 2010 (latest)
Publication of AGM agenda Thursday 24th June 2010 (latest)
Hustings   6:00pm Wednesday 14th July 2010
AGM and Elections  9:00am Thursday 15th July 2010
