A full programme of Indoor Athletics events will take place.

Detailed instructions regarding the Indoor Athletics Championships will be issued in the BUCS Essentials on 2 March 2010.

ACCREDITATION:
All competitors will need to obtain accreditation before their event. Please click here for more information

CONTACT:
Competitors should first contact their university AU Office with any queries. AU’s can contact Vikki Scott (vikki.scott@bucs.org.uk) for further information.

ENTRIES:
Institutions may enter up to two athletes per event and a maximum of two relay teams (one male & one female). There are no non-scoring athletes/guests.

ENTRY FEES:
There is a basic entry fee per institution of £35.00 + each entry charged additionally at £6.50 per entry (team or individual).
i.e. 1 athlete competing in 2 events = £35.00 + £6.50 + £6.50 = £48.00
      3 athletes competing in 1 event each £35.00 + £6.50 + £6.50 + £6.50 = £54.50.

You will be invoiced by the BUCS Office for all entry fees once the closing date has passed. Payment is to be sent to the BUCS Office by cheque (made payable to BUCS) or by BACS with remittance advice.

ENTRY PROCESS:
BUCS are operating online entries for this event via Fixtures Live. This is an automated system which will require athlete’s names to be selected from an existing database organised by your Athletic Union/Sports Office. The online forms will be live from 24 November and will close automatically at midnight on the 18 February 2010. The online forms will need to be completed in full – incomplete forms cannot be submitted. No late entries can be accepted via this system.

RESERVE LISTS:
Reserves are to be entered in the same way as the entries. The closing date for entering reserves is the same as for the entries on Thursday 18 February 2010. This is different to previous years. There is no limit to the number of reserves an institution can enter so BUCS suggests you consider every possible person that could act as a reserve as once the deadline is passed no extras will be allowed to be added. Only athletes named on reserve lists or already competing in the competition will be able to be used as substitutes. Please note that there is no charge for submitting reserves names.

PERSONAL BESTS:
Athletic Unions/Sports Offices MUST submit a personal best for each athlete they enter into the online entry system. Failure to submit a personal best may result in the entry not being accepted. Personal bests will be checked at random and proof of achievement may be asked for.

CLOSING DATE:
Online Entry Forms will automatically close at midnight on 18 February 2010.
NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED.

COMPETITION NUMBERS:
This year we will not be allocating institutional competition numbers. Each athlete will be given an individual number that they will keep for the duration of the event and wear for all the events they compete in. Relay teams will be allocated a separate identifier. These will all be given to team captains in their Captains’ Packs on arrival at the event.

AWARDS:
Medals will be awarded to the first three athletes in each event. Results will count towards an institution’s total athletics team championship points. Athletics team championship points will be awarded to the top eight finishers.

TIMETABLE:
A provisional timetable is available by clicking here. The final timetable will be drawn up once entries have been received. This will be circulated with the Pre-Event Information on 3 March 2009.

PRE-EVENT INFORMATION:
Pre-event Information will be sent to Athletic Unions/Sports Offices via the BUCS Essentials on Tuesday 2 March 2010. It will also be posted here. It is your responsibility to check that the names entered in the event are correct and notify BUCS of any errors. This information will also be available at
www.thebucschampionships.co.uk.
