The University of Stirling "Clansmen" captured a significant win away to the Edinburgh University "Predators" on Saturday, in the first ever BUCS American Football match. British American Football took a big step forward over the summer of 2012, becoming affiliated with BUCS and it was fitting that Stirling, who actually played in the first ever collegiate game back in 1984, should be a part of it.

31/07/12Having gone through the BUCS Sport Criteria assessment successfully we are delighted to announce that American Football is now a BUCS sanctioned sport. BUCS has been working closely with Andy Fuller and BUAFL / BAFA to ensure compliance to BUCS rules and regulations and is pleased with the growth of the game within higher education. We are all looking forward to continue this relationship and provide a great experience for all those associated with the game.
