  • Leeds Met Carnegie overcame a spirited Loughborough performance to claim BUCS glory for yet another year, winning 42-14 at Headingly Stadium last night. Loughborough, buoyed by a win earlier in the season against their opponents, came into the game with high hopes and tested their adversaries throughout. Leeds Met were determined to prove that the 28-22 turnaround was a one-off, and they justified their position as the most feared team in rugby league with a ruthless display.

  • Day two of the BUCS Championships saw Exeter’s men dominate the hockey, whilst in the rugby league there was a clean sweep for the Leeds universities.

  • On a bright but chilly day at West Park, Leeds, the first of the three showpiece rugby league games saw Leeds Metropolitan 2nds the BUCS Trophy title after a solid victory over Hull. They produced a fine display in the first half, but had to endure a Hull resurgence after half time before eventually holding on for a 40-22 victory.
