Canter takes Silver at World University Equestrian Championships
14/10/2008Rosalind Canter took a silver medal in the Show Jumping at the World University Equestrian Championships in Algeria over the weekend.
The event took place across 3 days from the 9 – 11 October in Alger, Algeria. Great Britain was one of the 15 teams competing and was represented by Natalie McGoldrick (Cambridge), Louise Bradley (Warwick), Jo Davies (Birmingham) and Rosalind Canter (Sheffield Hallam).
Canter finished behind Ben Crawford (Ireland) and ahead of Martin Denisot (France) in the Show Jumping discipline. Other Great Britain results include Joanna Davies, 30th and Natalie McGoldrick who finished in 39th, leaving the team in 9th position.
In the Dressage competition McGoldrick was the top placed GB rider finishing in 16th, followed by Davies in 22nd and Canter in 38th, with a team lying in 7th place.
The combined standings (from Show Jumping & Dressage) saw the team take 9th position overall, with individual placings of 20th for Canter, 27th for Davies and McGoldrick finishing 30th .
