BUCS launches new website


BUCS DigitalBritish Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) has launched a brand new website following recent feedback from members and website users.

With 51 sports, over 160 events, a full development and international programme as well as a new local league structure the BUCS website is bursting with content with many users accessing various points on the site for the information specific to their interests.  In the summer of 2012 BUCS collected feedback from a website survey and from various BUCS Conference workshop, sponsors and partners to create a new and fresh digital approach for the BUCS website.

BUCS will be making more navigational changes over the next few months, but the first set of changes includes a newly designed events calendar to view all events in a month by month format.  The calendar will allow users to see all BUCS events on one screen with more information on each event page when selected.

A further change is the improvement in feature items on sports or event pages, including the BUCS homepage.   Utilising some of the great imagery captured at BUCS events and competitions the new items will illustrate university sport like never before. 

With an average of 160,000 unique users each month the BUCS website is designed for university members, students and the general public to get information about university sport in the UK. BUCS Head of Commercial, Communications and Marketing, Alex Scotcher commented:

“The new changes on the BUCS website is just one of the ways we have responded to members and website users feedback to make the site easier to navigate.  With a full programme of university sporting competition we were concerned with feedback received about the look and navigation.  The changes we hope will go a long way in reassuring the website users that we are listening to their feedback”
