David McNamee - BUCS Triathlon Championships 2010Places are filling up fast for the inaugural BUCS Super Sprint Triathlon.  The Super Sprint Triathlon is a first for BUCS who is running the Championships in partnership with Triathlon England and One Step Beyond at the National Water Sport Centre, Nottingham.

The BUCS Super Sprint, which has 220 places available for tri-athletes, incorporates the BUCS Standard Distance Triathlon. The Super Sprint entails a 400m open water swim, 15k bike and 5k run and is open to experienced triathletes and newcomers to the sport.  There are also a limited amount of guest entries available.

BUCS Sports Manager Ed Curran said:

“We are delighted to be working with Triathlon England and One Step Beyond on both the BUCS Super Sprint and Standard Distance Triathlon this year.  We have been working closely with Triathlon England over the last year and we identified that we wanted to offer a Super Sprint event that will offer a high level of competition at a great environment for experienced athletes looking for a very fast time over the shorter distance or for novice competitors looking for a safe and friendly venue for their first open water triathlon.  We are looking to make this an annual competition and develop the event around it.”

Entry for the Super Sprint Triathlon is just £30 and includes a race pack, swimming hat and t-shirt.
