  • Badminton

    Only the one fixture took place yesterday at BUGs as Northern Ireland opened the netball programme with a 72- 24 victory over Wales.  Earlier the Games had been opened by Quentin Sloper (BUSA Director of Competitions) and Prof Steve Chapman (Vice Principal for planning and resources of Edinburgh University) with Sarah Gandon (Scottish Universities) taking the athletes pledge on behalf of the 500 competitors in attendance.

  • Snooker

    Northern Ireland Universities used home advantage to full effect by regaining the "GUU Cup" at the superb QE1 Snooker Club in Belfast at the weekend, after a thrilling 10-8 victory over holders England in the final match of the BUSA Home Nations Festival.

  • GBR Cross Country Champions 2008

    Faye Fullerton’s individual gold led the British Women’s team to victory in the 16th World University Cross Country Championships on Sunday 6 April.  Andy Vernon’s 6th place helped secure a silver medal for the Men’s team.  The event was held in Mauquenchy, Northern France, approximately 40 kilometres south east of Rouen.

    Over 500 of the UK’s best student athletes will represent their Institution’s Home Nation at the 2008 British University Games (BUGs) next week in Edinburgh.

  • Climbing

    The seminar, in partnership with ULTIMATE OUTDOORS and supported by the MOUNTAIN TRAINING TRUST, is designed for student climbing, hill walking and mountaineering clubs. It provides 100 student club members from across the country the opportunity to improve their club practices and help ensure safer enjoyment when out walking, climbing and mountaineering.  The weekend comprises a mixture of lectures, discussions and practical workshops.
