Three University of Bath students have struck gold for Great Britain at modern pentathlon’s European Junior Championships in Portugal.

British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) the representative body for sport within the Higher Education sector invites applications to join the Board to three non-Executive Director positions.

While most of us cannot aspire to winning Olympic or Paralympic gold on home soil in London in two year’s time, UK-based students still have a once in a lifetime opportunity to contribute to Great Britain’s success at this momentous sporting occasion.

BUCS has announced the Great Britain squad for the World University Triathlon Championships, hosted by The University of Valencia in Spain on May 29-30.  Lois Rosindale from Leeds Metropolitan University and Mark Threlfall from Loughborough University are the sole Great Britain entries in the women’s and men’s competition in Spain.

The University of Bath has announced the creation of the Ivor Powell Sports Scholarship Fund to mark the retirement of the inspirational football coach.

The 13th World University Golf Championships take place from the 7 – 11 June in Malaga, Spain with Great Britain represented by a squad of seven golfers. Two years ago Great Britain returned home with a two bronze medals, one in the men’s individual competition and one in the men’s team competition, and team manager Anthony Abraham will be looking for a similar return from Malaga, Spain.
